Inferno

I have had a burning passion.
So in love that
it consumed me.
Living the high
of giving myself entirely
to love.

And then I was cinders.

It was a flame
then a fire
then just ashes.

I was the ashes.
Because as high as I have flown,
as hard and deep was my fall.

But I have the badge,
I know how it feels
and how short it is doomed to be.

It’s life wrecking
and oh! so worth the pain.
